It has been revealed by the official reports that the Ministry of Commerce says that the foreign direct investment in China has rose by more than 27 percent in May, $8.13 billion, over last year.

According to the reports of Xinhua, China's state-run news agency, that has brought the country's foreign direct investment to $39.92 billion for the first five months of this year, an increase of more than 14 percent over the same period last year.

It has also been reported that Ministry spokesman Yan Jian said investment flowed mainly into the manufacturing sector in the first five months, accounting for more than 47 percent of the total, despite a drop of nearly 4 percent in the dollar amount. (With Inputs from Agencies)
