‘Miley Jab Hum Tum’ Official Hits Out At Kriti
The controversy surrounding Kriti Sharma's exit from Star One and Sudhir Sharma show `Miley Jab Hum Tum' simply refuses to die.
On July 24, we'd filed news on Kriti, who plays the character of Ria, being shown the door. The girl wasn't available then, but she gave her side of the story in an interview to us three days later. Sharma blamed the production officials for their insensitive attitude towards her plight.
Officials at Sunshine Productions and Endemol India aren't pleased with Kriti's line of defense. Sunshine's Neerja Sachdev, who is the project head for `Miley..', has rubbished her allegations, and instead blamed her.
"I've read her interview. It's very unfair on her part to blame the officials. She's been giving us a hard time. The basic problem with her is she's not committed to her craft. If she calls herself a professional, then why hasn't she reported to shoot for even a single day after she submitted her notice? I'm fine with her not shooting but shouldn't she have the courtesy to at least inform us why she's not coming", said Sachdev.
Responding to Kriti's charge of not providing her with adequate medical care whilst she was sick, Sachdev chides, "Look, it was 9.00 pm then. Besides, the location where she shot (Kanjurmarg) doesn't have such facilities at door step. At the time, and in such place, if you call any doctor he/she will not turn up. Most of them refused to come. In the end, she had to leave on her own but we did arrange for production guy to go with her. She wasn't left alone".
Adding further, she says, "As regards to her shooting for excessive hours, it's only she who is to be blamed. As an actor if you're giving multiple retakes then you'll end up going home late. Her saying that her track isn't given importance is sheepish. Look, such is the nature of soap where there'll be ups and downs. We'd given her a Paris Hilton-type role. Her ire was that Ria was tuning into a comic character, which she wasn't. Kriti simply wasn't prepared to show any commitment towards her role".
The actress had claimed that her boyfriend accompanied her only few times, and that too to pick her up at odd hours. Sachdev though disagrees, "Her boyfriend was preset on most days in the sets. He stuck to her like anything. At times, we wondered is he really her boyfriend or her Man Friday. The day after she left, we arranged for an Innova to pick her up from Mira Road. The driver kept calling but she didn't open the door. Shockingly, her miffed boyfriend then came down and slapped the driver".
"Our industry is such where you have to be very tough both mentality and physically. Rati has shot when she had malaria. Personally, I myself am against this, but such is our industry where you have to work even in trying times. I've given an honest advice to Kriti to quit this industry because she lacks the physical and mental strength. After having worked with her, it's my appeal to all producers not to work with an actor like Kriti", Sachdev concluded.
After listening to both parties, we don't want to play devil's advocate and choose any side. All we'll say is that we surely haven't heard the last word on this controversy.
