A Marriage Proposal the Paleontologist Way!
Nothing could be more apt for paleontologist Caleb M Brown than to choose the ‘Hellboy’ paper to make yet another revelation, the declaration of his love for his girlfriend, Lorna O'Brien whom he proposed for marriage at the end of this paper.
The paper published in the journal Current Biology, describing the creature with exotic frilly crown with horns and spikes, also contained a line in the acknowledgement section at the end of the article that highlighted the support of fellow paleontologist, Lorna O’Brien reading, “Lorna, will you marry me?”
The paper that intrigued several fossil hunters the world over with the discovery of the dinosaur, has been readily accepted by one, Dr O'Brien who answered ‘yes’.
Lorna O’Brien works as a paleontologist at Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology in Drumheller, Alberta. O’Brien has co-authored this paper with Caleb Brown, published on Thursday in Current Biology.
Ironically, after choosing the paper as a medium to confess his love, Dr. Brown is now reported to be anxious for he does not want his personal news to overshadow the disclosure of the new species of dinosaur.
The dinosaur, scientifically named Regaliceratops peterhewsi, is a triceratops-like animal. It has been nicknamed “Hellboy” because of its unusual appearance and the tedious task undertaken to extricate it from the limestone rock. Dr Brown stated to a newspaper, “We don’t want that part their engagement to eclipse the new species”.
Joseph Caputo, spokesperson for Current Biology’s publisher, Cell Press congratulated the couple and informed that this was the first time that any of its paper had a proposal of marriage.
