Chennai: Mani Shanker Aiyar, the Union Minister for Panchayati Raj was admitted in the Apollo Hospitals. He complained of discomfort after he arrived at the airport on Wednesday.

He was admitted in the intensive care unit for the evaluation of chest pain.

According to hospital bulletin, the minister is being treated for acute coronary syndrome. His general condition is reported to be stable, but he needs to be under regular monitoring.
