Landslides in Kozhikode after heavy rain
Kozhikode, Oct 3 Heavy rain lashing Kerala's Kozhikode district for the past two days led to landslides at half a dozen places here Saturday.
Revenue officials said that though there has been no loss of life, damage to crops and houses have been reported at places like Puthupady, Balussery and hilly areas where there is a large concentration of farmers.
With heavy inflow of rainwater, the gates of the Kakayam dam in ther district were opened and places bordering the neighbouring districts of Malappuram and Wayanad too have been affected, the officials said.
Road traffic was also thrown out of gear at many places in the affected areas. (IANS)
