Kings XI thrashes Delhi Daredevils by 7 wickets
Kings XI Punjab led by skipper Kumar Sangakkara has defeated Delhi Daredevils by seven wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL-3) at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday.
Delhi skipper Gautam Gambhir won the toss and elected to bat first on slow pitch. Delhi got to bad start as they lost wickets at regular intervals and they returned to pavilion with just 111 runs on the board in 19.4 overs.
Irfan Pathan took three wickets while P Chawla picked up two wickets for Punjab. L Ablish, Yuvraj Singh and J Theron chipped in with one wicket each.
Punjab chased the target of 112 runs successfully in 18.4 overs with seven wickets to spare. D Jayawardene was the top scorer who smashed 38 runs while Sangakkara scored 33 runs. Chawla was declared man of the match for his brilliant bowling performance.
