Kevin Federline says he still cares for ex-wife Britney Spears
For the first time ever since his divorce with pop singer Britney Spears in 2006, Kevin Federline has broken his silence in a new exclusive interview with People magazine, saying that he still cares about his ex-wife and wants her to do best in life.
Federline, 30, who has largely been blamed for their failed marriage and the pop star's infamous public breakdown, has shed his party-boy, rapper, gold-digger, boy-toy names in favor of "daddy." The former back-up dancer is happy that Britney is getting her life back on track, and they are once again sharing the parenting duties again.
For the moment, Federline said all his energy is centered in raising their sons - 3-year-old Preston and 2-year-old Jayden. He has two other kids Kori and Kaleb from another girlfriend.
With Britney's comeback in full effect, Federline said he is rooting for her, and added that her apparent breakdown in January was "one of the lowest points of depression" for him. He said: "I was very, very worried for her 'cause I care about her. That's the mother of my children. Just because I'm not in love with her doesn't mean that I don't love her. There's nothing more that I want than for her to be in the best health and doing what she loves to do."
Saying that his marriage still remains one of the happiest moments in his life, Federline talked about his first meeting with Britney, 27. He said they met at a club in Hollywood, hit it off right away; and marriage happened.
Federline also said when Spears filed for divorce, he was "completely blindsided"; however, admitting that Spears took a backseat to the kids.
