KEC International bags orders worth Rs 1,253 croreInternational infrastructure EPC firm, KEC International Ltd ahs bagged order worth a whooping Rs. 1,253 crore in various segments, according to a company statement.

The company bagged orders through its businesses in transmission, power systems, water, cable and telecom sectors. The company said that it has received orders worth won Rs. 723 crore in for transmission lines and towers from Saudi Arabia, United States and Afghanistan.

The order from Afghanistan was for Rs. 104 crore from Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat for the construction of 220kV double circuit overhead transmission lines between Kunduz and Taloqan substations. The company's wholly- owned subsidiary SAE Towers bagged orders for Rs. 154 crore from the U. S., Brazil and Mexico for tower supply for its transmission business.

The company received Rs 253 crore orders from Kenya, India and Philippines for substation works as well as six other orders for constructing canals in the Madhya Pradesh in central India and flood protection works in West Bengal in the eastern part of the country.

The company received orders worth Rs 105 crore and Rs 49 crore in cable and telecom business, respectively. Ramesh Chandak, MD and CEO of the global giant said that the company now has an order book of Rs 9,000 crore with taking the new orders into consideration.

The shares of the company rose 8.2% to Rs 39.50 on the National Stock Exchange this morning at the time of reporting.
