Jimmy Carter starts treatment for Brain Cancer

Former President Jimmy Carter detailed about cancer condition a detailed, 45-minute news conference organized on Thursday. After the surgery of cancer in his liver, a new cancer has been found in his brain of which he has already started treatment.

Carter, 91, said that he is all set for a new adventure and also mentioned that he has lot more to do in his life. “Within the bounds of my physical and mental capability I’ll continue to do it. But I’m going to have to give the treatment regimen top priority”.

There are chances that Carter will not be able to go for a home-building mission in Nepal this November with Habitat for Humanity. It would have been his 33rd such mission with his wife, Rosalynn. He said that his family might have to step in at his place.

Carter said that he has started treatment for brain cancer and has received radiation therapy that targeted four small tumors in his brain. He has also been taking a newly approved drug that will help his immune system to find out and destroy cancer cells that can develop anywhere in his body.

It is said that he may have to take the treatment three more times at the gap of three-week. If required, he may need to take more radiation treatments. As said above, he has undergone a surgery to remove a small tumor in his liver. Carter said that he has passed a wonderful life.
