IPL restitutes Pakistan player’s contract
The Indian Premier League (IPL) has restituted contracts with Pakistan cricketer players which were terminated and suspended earlier.
IPL commissioner, Lalit Modi has announced that the contracts of Pakistani cricketers have been made valid and now they have become eligible to take part in the 2010 edition of the IPL.
According to a release, the contracts of Pakistan cricketers Sohail Tanvir, Umar Gul, Kamran Akmal and Misbah-ul-Haq will be revised as they have been paid only $100,000 USD in the first season of IPL.
Although, eleven Pakistan players were enrolled by the Kolkata, Rajasthan, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore franchises in the first season of IPL but the franchises has agreed to retain the contracts of only four of them - Akmal and Tanvir (Rajasthan), Misbahul Haq (Bangalore) and Umar Gul (Kolkata) as Pakistan players would not be able to play in the second season of the IPL.
The Pakistan government and Indian government have not yet given any permission to play Pakistan players in India.
