Indonesian maid falls to death from Hong Kong high-rise
Hong Kong - An Indonesian maid who forgot her keys and tried to climb from the roof of a Hong Kong high-rise to her employer's 20th-floor flat, fell to her death, police said Thursday.
The 30-year-old, whose employer lived on the top floor of the luxury Flora Gardens development on Hong Kong's Chun Fai Road, was found dead by a security guard Wednesday.
A police spokesman said it appeared the maid had forgotten her keys and tried to get into the apartment by climbing down from the roof.
More than 200,000 maids from Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand live with Hong Kong families and work for a government-set minimum wage of about 450 US dollars a month.
