Indian auto plants way up in the World Top 10
The fact that many auto majors have already decided to make India as their manufacturing hubs the industry has pulled mind-boggling investments over the last decade.
The importance of the Indian auto market on the global charts is clearer from the fact that plant of Maruti Suzuki at Gurgaon and Hyundai's Chennai facility has been named the world's top third and seventh respectively, according to a research by CSM worldwide.
There is no denying that manufacturing has its own challenges in the Indian market then be it the component shortage that the market leader Maruti Suzuki faced or the troubles that Hyundai faced with its workforce over several issues.
In fact, with more cars expected to be produced in the Indian market analysts are of a view that many more units will make their debut in the top 10 list in the due course of time.
Notably, Hyundai South Korea unit took the first place and Changan and SAAIC took 8th and 10th slot in the Chinese unit but no US auto unit was able to make a mark in the top 10.
