India Takes Lead By 2-1 In Four ODI Series
The brilliant batting performance by Indian batsmen has helped India to take lead by 2-1 in the four ODI matches series after defeating West Indies in the third ODI match by 6 wickets in St Lucia on Friday.
The match was reduced to 22 overs as rain interrupted the game several times, and West Indies set a target of 187 runs in 27 overs, which was further reduced to 159 runs in 22 overs by D/L method after Indian skipper Mahendar Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to field first.
Ashish Nehra took three wickets for just 21 runs in his 5 overs, while Ramnaresh Sarwan scored 62 runs for West Indies.
Dinesh Karthik (47) and Gautam Gambhir (44) scored 84 runs for the first wicket while man of the match Dhoni scored unbeaten 46 runs as India chased the target in 21.5 overs.
The match was a thriller as India has to score 11 runs in last over but Dhoni smashed a six on the second ball of the last over to make it easy for India.
