India’s Xbox 360 Boss ‘Mohit Anand’ Quits Microsoft
Aiming to achieve his big ambitions, Mohit Anand, Entertainment and Devices manager for Xbox 360 India operations, is leaving Microsoft after eight years effective April 15.
Anand, the most proficient and clever personality, has not yet disclosed his future position.
However, he wishes to stay in India and work in a similar gaming capacity. Besides, he did not verify or reject rumors that he would be working with Nintendo to bring the Wii to India.
“Whatever my next move is going to be, it is going to be within these spaces, which is technology.”
“The convergence of technology, retail, entertainment, that’s where I have specialised and built these skill sets and that is what I really intend to do,” he said.
Anand also disputes local hearsays that there had been some internal clash within the walls of Microsoft.
He said that his group had assisted Xbox 360 to turn out to be the “face of gaming in India.”
Saying that, despite red-ring product quality issues, he’s pleased with the console’s performance in India, Anand told, “People who hadn't heard of gaming stood up and took notice. Having been associated with the 360 right from the inception stage way back in April 2005 when I started writing the entry strategy to launching it to where we are today, it has been an incredible ride and I am extremely proud and honored to be a part of it.”
