India reaches the final after defeating New Zealand
Indian team has made into the final of the Emerging Players tournament after defeating New Zealand by five wickets in their last league match in Brisbane on Thursday.
New Zealand scored 246 for nine in 50 overs after they were invited to bat first by India. Kiwi batsmen struggled against Indian bowling attack except B J Watling.
Waltinhg smashed unbeaten 94 runs in 114 balls while Tarun Nethulla scored 42 off 61 balls.
Delhi leg spinner Amit Mishra was of the best among the bowlers for Indian team.Mishra took four wickets for 44 runs while Bhuvanesh Kumar and Sudeep Tyagi chipped in with two wickets each.
Indian skipper S Badrinath (unbeaten 81 off 94 balls) and opener Virat Kohli (92 off 86 balls) helped India to chase the target in just 44.3 overs.
India will now take on South Africa in the final match of the tournament, which will be played on 1st August.
