IHF elections in July
Chief of Indian hockey association has announced that there will be elections for various posts for IHF in July. After a general council meeting, Mr. Narinder Batra, secretary general of HI has declared that affiliation to 25 State/UT teams and four institutional boards were approved this decision at the meeting.
Kuldeep Vats, observer from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and Government observer S. P. S. Tomar was present there in the meeting.
The teams whose affiliations were confirmed were: Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Orissa, Uttarakhand, Mizoram, Manipur, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Bihar, Nagaland, Andaman and Nicobar, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Assam, Jharkhand, Goa, Pondicherry, Delhi, Punjab, Kerala, Rajasthan and Bengal. In addition to these institutional boards like Railways, Services, Association of Indian Universities and Air India were also affiliated.
Officials of Indian Hockey Association have decided to begin a conversation with the Indian Women's Hockey Federation (IWHF), which also later articulated its purposes to seek a combination with the men's federation.
In the meeting they also approved all the constitutional modifications planned, including the one that deals with associate members. Member in the meeting also approved the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code and decided to have 5% representatives of players, with selection power.
