Hungary's central bank raises interest rates to 8.25 per cent
Budapest - Hungary's central bank on Monday raised interest rates by 25 basis points to 8.25 per cent, in line with analyst expectations.
The hike adds to last month's 50-basis-point hike.
The bank is fighting inflationary pressures brought on partly by economic reforms aimed at cutting the budget deficit and getting Hungary ready to adopt the euro. (dpa)
