HTC’s super-sized DLX smartphone headed for Verizon
According to a new Android Central report, bigwig US wireless carrier Verizon will be offering HTC's most recent flagship device, the DLX - which is similar to HTC J Butterfly extra-large handset available in Japan - which is set to hit the North America markets.
Fairly akin in appearance to its Japanese sibling, the DLX - probably to be pronounced as "deluxe" - will be a super-sized HTC handset, which will largely have the same specifications as the HTC J Butterfly.
As per the Android Central report, citing unidentified `inside' sources, the HTC DLX will boast a 5-inch screen; a quad-core processor; 2GB of RAM; 16GB on-board storage capacity; and either an 8-megapixel or a 12-megapixel rear camera. The smartphone will run Android OS version 4.1.1 `Jelly Bean'; and will be compatible with Verizon's high-speed 4G LTE network.
The sources cited in the Android Central report also revealed that the casing of HTC DLX will be quite similar to that of the Droid Incredible 2, which boasts soft-touch instead of polycarbonate; and will feature a non-removable
2500 mAh.
The Verizon branding of the HTC DLX will show up the way it usually does in other handsets - complete with the red highlights on the smartphone's bezel, volume rocker, and rear camera. In addition, it is also likely that the handset will have a 4G LTE logo on its back side.
