Hrithik To Work With Latin Actress Barbara In ‘Kites’

For his next movie ‘Kites,’ Bollywood filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has signed up Latin actress Hrithik-RoshanBarbara Mori, who will star opposite Hrithik Roshan.

The new film to be directed by renowned director Anurag Basu will be shot in New Mexico, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. The music will be scored by Rajesh Roshan.

Several names were considered for the leading lady's role including Anil kapoor’s daughter Sonam Kapoor.

But, Sonam said ‘No’ because of the bold scenes required in the movie.

Mr. Basu said, “The girl’s role is extremely bold. Actually, we've decided to cast someone international because that's the personality and profile of the leading lady in my film.”

As for his co-stars, a source close to the project said, “The Roshans and Anurag Basu were looking for someone with a truly international look, but of Indian origin. Since the character in question is a dancer, she must be proficient in Latin-American dance forms like salsa. They have finally zeroed down on Kangana Ranaut and Barbara Mori."

Rakesh Roshan confirmed the casting saying, “Yes, we have finally signed (international actress) Barbara Mori and Kangana opposite Hrithik. The film is titled Kites and Rajesh Roshan would be composing the music. The film should start rolling by July end (2008) and should release around June 2009."

The film also features Kangana Ranaut, who is veteran of Basu’s films Gangster and Metro.

Kites will be a bi-lingual film with both Hindi and English dialoges, and is likely to hit Indian cinemas by the end of July 2008.
