Hollywood studios file case against piracy in High Court in LondonLeading film studios from Hollywood have filed a case in the High Court in London in an effort to check piracy. The case urges the court to force BT to block access to a website which have “flagrantly infringed” their copyright.

Warner Bros, Paramount Pictures Corporation, 20th Century Fox and Disney Enterprises are urging to court to ask BT, which is the UK's largest internet provider, to block access to Newzbin website, which allegedly is allowing users to download films including The King's Speech.

The complaint claimed that Newzbin 2, which has 700,000 members, is carrying out copyright infringement on a "grand scale". They claim that the site is hosting 75 illegal versions of the Oscar-winning film.

The test case has been filed representing all members of the Motion Picture Association of America, and the outcome could set a precedent for future such cases against websites.
