Hockey India launches its logoHockey India has unveiled its logo in a function in New Delhi, which consists of 24 hockey sticks outlining a wheel shape that has been inspired by Ashoka Chakra present in the Indian National Flag.

The logo launching ceremony was attended by senior official and Indian players including Hockey India president A.K. Mattoo, secretary general Mohammad Aslam, senior vice-president Vidya Stokes, chief coach Jose Brasa, coach Harendra Singh and skipper Sandeep Singh.

Hockey India came into existence after International Hockey Federation (IHF) threatened to remove 2010 World Cup from India if they did not dissolve men's and women's hockey associations into a single governing body before the World Cup.

Matto said that Hockey India has been recognized by IHF, and the logo launching ceremony was a part of whole process as they would host the World Cup in 2010.

He further added that Sahara India has not been any more sponsors of Sahara of Hockey India.

Meanwhile, Indian hockey team missed their flight to England as the bus of Sports Authority of India (SAI) arrived late to pick them due to which they were not able to reach airport at right time.
