Hindustan Zinc has announced its financial results for the June quarter of the fiscal year 2010-11. According to the report, the Vedanta group company has registered a significant 24% hike in the net profit in this quarter. Hindustan Zinc has posted a net profit of Rs 891 crore for the April to June quarter that ended on 30th June, 2010.

It is almost 24% from the net profit posted in the similar quarter in the last fiscal year. The company has registered a net profit of Rs 719 crore in the corresponding quarter in the previous year. Hindustan Zinc has said this in a filing at the Bombay Stock Exchange.

There has been a huge hike in the net sales of the company in this quarter as well. So far as the net sales of the company are concerned, it has gone up to Rs 1,951 crore during the April-June quarter of fiscal year 2010-11.

This figure was Rs 1,512 crore for the same April-June quarter in the preceding financial year.
