Highway bus collision kill 20 in Bangladesh
Dhaka - Two buses collided head-on in central Bangladesh killing at least 20 people and injuring 18 more in the worst highway accident in the country this year, officials said Tuesday.
The buses when loaded with holiday makers when they crashed at high speed on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway near the trading town of Comilla, about 120 kilometres east of the capital Dhaka, district commissioner Manzurur Rahman said.
"The identification of the bodies is a difficult task because many faces have been disfigured beyond recognition," Rahman said.
The death toll was likely to rise as some of the survivors admitted to hospital were in critical condition, Comilla police chief Imtiaz Ahmad said.
