Hero Honda to set up its fourth unit in KarnatakaAfter rounds of discussions across various state sites for its fourth unit, Hero Honda has finally opted for Karnataka as the destination for its fourth unit. The company will be investing a whopping Rs. 2,000 crore in setting up the plane and will have an installed capacity base of One Lakh units.

Eying to touch the ambitious target of 5.4 million units in the next fiscal, the market leader is certainly paving the way forward for many years to come.

The company is expected to employ over 1,000 skilled workers and hence would generate employment at a very high level in the state. The government has decided to allot 500 acre to the two-wheeler major near Hubli airport and Dharwad. The state is also in second round of discussions with South Korean steel major Posco in Seoul for its plans to set up a 32,000 crore steel plant in the state that is expected to have an installed capacity base of six-million tonne per year.

Moreover, it is also discussing the viability of setting up an engine plant in the state with TVS.
