Henry VIII immortalised in coins
London, June 9 : Henry VIII has been immortalised in coins to honour five centuries since he became the King of England.
Image of the royal would appear on five new coins made in different metals from cupro-nickel to platinum.
While each coin would stand for 5 pounds, collectors will have to dig deeper into their pockets and splurge from 9.99 to 4,400 pounds to grab the limited edition money.
The Royal Mint''s Dave Knight said that the commemoration was inevitable.
"Love him or hate him, Henry VIII is one of history''s most influential monarchs," the Sun quoted him as saying.
"It was essential that this period was commemorated with a lasting and treasured memento," he added. (ANI)
