Istanbul - A heavy explosion caused a fire in a munitions factory on the outskirts of Ankara Tuesday, media reports said.

There were nio immediate reports of casualties. Local media said the blast at Roketsan in the town of Elmadag on the southern edge of Ankara had felt "like an earthquake."

Roketsan produces missile systems, including those used in aircraft and anti-tank defence. (dpa)
