HCL Announces New Unit in Washington
HCL claims to generate 400 employment opportunities with its new delivery unit established at Redmond, Washington. The Company will be making an expenditure of $4 million for creating job opportunities for people of Seattle.
The new unit will be a medium of providing services around the globe and will be concentrating on projecting advanced business plans to expand the software sector. Microsoft has been appointed as the first authorized business customer by HCL.
Microsoft Director Brad Weed has promised HCL authorities to pay an amount of $200,000 for the plan of generating employment in the region, and it will also provide guidance to newly appointed staff.
The joint engineering centre will have an accommodating power of 350 employees, and will operate engineering and product development services in the segment of globalization and accessibility. HCL Americas President Shami Khorana states that, "This centre shows our high level of commitment to our customers and our vision of local expansion by investment in people, facilities and processes".
At present, HCL is being assisted by Washington State Department of Commerce and Enterprise in appointment of trained people for the unit. Also, the shares of the HCL plunged by 2.11% at the Bombay Stock Exchange, and were being traded at Rs. 397.
