GSK first quarter net profit surges up by 3.7%Leading pharma firm of the country, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals (GSK) has declared its June quarter financial results for the fiscal year 2010-11. The company has reported to register a marginal net profit rise in the quarter under review.

GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals has posted a net profit of Rs 129 crore during the April-June quarter of fiscal year 2010-11. The company has registered a net profit of Rs 124.35 crore in the corresponding quarter in the previous year.

There has been a hike of 3.7% in the net profit for the April-June quarter against its like period a year ago. GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals has informed this in a filing at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). There has been a marginal hike in the net sales of the company.

The net sales of were reported to be Rs 497.9 crore for the quarter that ended in 30th June, 2010. Last year, for the same quarter it was found out to be Rs 457.4 crore.

There has been a hike of 8.8% in the net sales figure of the company in the quarter of the current against the same quarter in the previous year.
