Grocery stores with IPL tickets
Indian Premier League has left no stone unturned to encourage people to come and watch the matches in the stadium. There have already been promotional campaigns on television that the joy of watching a match in the stadium is different and much more than that of watching at home.
As a part of their latest marketing strategy, IPL has joined hands with grocery stores. The franchisees, to be precise, have tied up with various stores across the country to sell IPL tickets. For instance winners of the first edition of the IPL, Rajasthan Royals has joined hands with Suvidhaa. It has nearly 18,000 outlets across the country out of which 1200 are in Gujarat and 1000 are in Rajasthan, where the tickets would be available.
Similarly Mumbai Indians will have its tickets sold at Reliance Fresh stores in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra. Kings XI Punjab has had its ticket sale point as the apparel store Reebok.
While other teams Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders like are in talks with various retailers, they are currently selling tickets online. Tickets range from Rs 200 to 1 lakh at the corporate boxes.
