Grandmother in Boston helps Emergency Delivery on Thanksgiving
A Boston woman has succeeded in one of the most perfect juggling acts: she cooked the turkey while helping deliver her baby granddaughter. Patricia McCalop was cooking her meal when right in the middle of it her daughter went into labor which was a whole two weeks early.
McCalop called 911 and a dispatcher guided her through the delivery and helped her confirm that the baby girl was breathing.
Parademics arrived shortly after the delivery was done and took Africa McCalop and her newborn to the hospital. When EMTs Chareese Allen and Garvey Cameron arrived on the scene, Africa and her newborn child were lying on the floor, but the baby was not moving. They both are now in good health.
Patricia McCalop was reported as saying that she was juggling between the kitchen and her daughter who was in labor since she did not want th turkey to burn while helping her child deliver the baby.
The baby girl weighed six pounds. It was the most delightful thanksgiving for the grandmother.
