Google drafts “tablet app quality checklist” for Android tablet apps

Google drafts “tablet app quality checklist” for Android tablet appsIn an evident attempt to help developers create top-notch apps for the Android-based tablets, Google has recently come up with a "tablet app quality checklist," which gives all Android app developers - especially those who have been been developing apps Android handsets - step-by-step guidelines for the bigger form factor.

The tablet app checklist drafted by Google will essentially facilitate the developers in creating apps which not only exploit the "extra screen area" to the maximum advantage, but also optimize for the bigger hardware of the tablets as well as their touch input targets and widgets.

In its recently-posted "tablet app quality checklist," coming at a time when the holiday shopping season is round the corner, Google has specifically drawn attention to the best practices for developing apps for the Nexus 7, the Samsung Galaxy Tab, and other Android tablets.

While the tablet app checklist post by Google also features "developer stories" which support the company's move in the direction of requiring developers to make quality apps for Android tablets, the post chiefly highlights three essential points which the developers need to keep in mind when developing tablet apps.

The first point specified in the checklist for tablet app developers is that the bigger device screens generally have more engaged users; while the second point is that retaining users on tablet apps is easier than retaining users of smartphone apps; and the third point is that the sales of Android tablets is on the rise and users are following!
