German police officer switches sides to rob bank
Angelbachtal, Germany - A policeman robbed a bank in the small town of Angelbachtal, 50 kilometres northeast of Karlsruhe, officers said Wednesday.
The 55-year-old entered the bank on Tuesday morning and pulled out his police gun, demanding cash. He then fled the scene by car with a booty of several thousand euros.
The police officer was caught shortly afterwards, and confessed to the crime.
The man is now in police custody, as officers investigate whether he could have carried out other offences. (dpa)
