Mouth bugs ‘help make certain foods tasty’London, Nov 15 : Mouth bugs play a role in creating the distinctive flavors of certain foods, scientists in Switzerland have reported.

According to researchers, the bacteria help gives people the rich flavours of wine, onions and peppers.

They found that these bacteria actually produce food odors from odorless components of food, allowing people to fully savor fruits and vegetables.

The study has been published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.

The actress, who had received critical acclaim for her part as singer-turned-nun Deloris Van Cartier in the 1992 film, has written a musical version of the movie.

And now, the stage version of the story will open in London next year (09).

However, Goldberg has claimed that she has no plans to reprise her role in front of live audience.

Pistol shrimps, which stun their prey by snapping their claws together to create a deafening ''crack'', normally live in the sub-tropics.

The one-inch long shrimp snaps its enlarged claw shut at such a speed that it produces a sound wave of up to 218 decibels.

The shrimps have only been recorded in UK waters a handful of times.

Due to the cold temperature, they are incredibly rare in British waters.

Sixty five-year-old Australian doctor held for pedophilia

A 65-year-old Australian doctor, working as a volunteer in an orphanage in Puri of Orissa, has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing children.
Allen was working as a volunteer at an orphanage run by the Mary Ellen Gerber Foundation.

The arrest was made after the orphanage's founder, a French national Mary Gerber, lodged a criminal complaint to police.

Allen was picked up from Vishakapatam, Andhra Pradesh, where he had gone absconding since November 5, the day Mary Ellen had lodged a complaint.

“The medical examinations were conducted. He is totally involved in this crime. After the examination, he was produced before the court. Now he is remanded to judicial custody,” said a senior police officer of Orissa.

According to Britain''s Evening Chronicle, the 31-year-old rapper was arrested on the suspicion of assault but was later released.

"We can confirm that a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault following an incident at a Newcastle city centre club in the early hours of this morning," People quoted a Northumbria Police spokeswoman, as saying.
