'Light' drinking during pregnancy can lead to brighter, well-behaved babiesLondon, Oct 31 : Little amount of alcohol during pregnancy does not increase kids'' risk of behavioural problems, in fact, it can improve babies'' behaviour and vocabulary, suggests a new study by University College London researchers.

The boffins have defined "light" drinking as up to two drinks a week throughout pregnancy.

The study of 12,500 three-year-olds even found a lower risk of some problems in children of such drinkers.

Oldest Hebrew script found in IsraelLondon, Oct 31 : An archaeologist in Israel has said that five lines of ancient script on a shard of pottery could be the oldest example of Hebrew writing ever discovered.

According to a report by BBC News, a teenage volunteer found the shard during a dig about 20km (12 miles) south-west of Jerusalem.

Experts at Hebrew University said that dating showed it was written 3,000 years ago - about 1,000 years earlier than the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Other scientists cautioned that further study was needed to understand it.

Half of Cambridge students admit to plagiarism

Cambridge UniversityLondon, Oct 31: Nearly half of students at Cambridge University cheat, reveals a new survey.

The survey has shown that 49 per cent of undergraduates claimed other people''s work as their own while studying at the world famous institution.

The anonymous online poll of more than 1,000 students found those studying law were the worst offenders with 62 per cent of them breaking the university plagiarism rules, according to student newspaper Varsity.

The university is now planning to introduce special plagiarism detection software to tackle the problem.

Srinagar, Oct 31: Filing of nominations for the first phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections comes to an end today.

Polling will be held on November 17 in 10 constituencies. The date of scrutiny is November 1 and last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 3.

Meanwhile, the Centre has dispatched 70 companies of para-military forces for ensuring security during the seven-phase elections in the State.

Security officials said that the Centre has so far sent 70 out of 425 sanctioned companies for ensuring security for polls during first phase of polling on November 17.

According to a report in Discovery News, the findings represent the first comparable animal fossils from the Ediacaran Period, 635 to 541 million years ago, which appear in two drastically different preservation environments - black shale of South China and quartz rock of South Australia.

The Tatas took the lease from West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation.

The CM further informed his partners that his government didn't release the Rs 200-crore soft loan that Tatas had sought to set up the small-car factory. The State Govt. is exploring other alternatives for the Singur area he added.
