Four more swine flu cases detected in UP

swine fluFour fresh swine flu cases were reported from the state of Uttar Pradesh, raising the total number of affected persons in the state to 48.

Of the four, two patients tested positive in Jhansi, while the other two were reported from Lucknow, the state capital.

Confirming the development, an official of state health department said that of the four, one was suspected earlier and was given the treatment. The other three too are being given treatment.

All of the four samples tested at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) ware found to be positive.

Notably, SGPGIMS is the state's only authorized laboratory to test the virus.

Meanwhile, UP Health Minister Anant Kumar Misra said: “Things are well under control as we have sufficient stock of Tamiflu tablets, which is the best treatment for the virus.”
