Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg expresses her grief on her Facebook page

Chief operating officer of Facebook, Sheryl Sandberg has expressed her grief after first month of her husband's death.

Dave Goldberg, who was chief executive of online polling company SurveyMonkey, died at age of 47 in a treadmill accident. During that time, the couple was spending holiday in Mexico. She posted a touching tribute on her Facebook page and said that she wanted to return some of what she has received.

She wrote in the post, "I think when tragedy occurs, it presents a choice. You can give in to the void, the emptiness that fills your heart, your lungs, constricts your ability to think or even breathe. Or you can try to find meaning".

Sandberg added that she was lost in void since past 30 days and even knows that she'll spend many future moments in vast emptiness. She added that she wants to select life and meaning. Sandberg said that she lived 30 years in 30 days and feels 30 years sadder and 30 years wiser.

She said those who shared their own experiences of sorrow, together with her closest friends and even complete strangers helped her get over the tragedy. She said that her mother helped her fill the empty space in her bed; she helped her sleep each night.

Ms Sandberg added that she has learnt to seek help, and also learnt how much help she needed. She said that so far, she has been the COO, the older sister, the doer and the planner.
