Extra Belly Fat Makes Obese People Hungrier; Consequently Leads To More Belly Fat
Your extra belly fat is real culprit that makes you hungrier and makes you eat more, and consequently leads to more belly fat. That’s what says the scientist from the Lawson Health Research Institute.
Study published in the Journal of Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) found that fat cells around abdomen produce an appetite-inducing hormone known as Neuropeptide Y (NPY). The study was conducted by Dr. Kaiping Yang and his colleagues of the University of Western Ontario.
Dr. Yang, the lead author of the study, and his team found in lab research found that the abdominal fat in obese rats in fact produced the hormone. The researchers concluded that abdominal fat tissue can reproduce a hormone that stimulates fat cell production.
Yang identified the hormone Neuropeptide Y (NPY) that is reproduced by abdominal fat tissue, earlier thought to be produced by the brain. NPY is the most potent appetite-stimulating hormone known, sending signals to the individual that they are constantly hungry.
