England defeats Australia by 4 wickets in seventh ODI

England_AustraliaEngland team has succeeded to avoid clean sweep as they defeated Australian team by four wickets in the seventh ODI match of the Nat West one day matches series at Chester-le-Street on Sunday.

England skipper A Strauss won the toss and elected to field first. Australian batsmen failed to deliver for the first time in the ODI series and they returned to pavilion for just
176 runs on the board in 45.5 overs.

Ricky Ponting was top score for Australia with 53 runs while M Hussey contributed 49 runs with the bat. G Swann was pick of the bowler for England. Swann took a five wickets haul to destroy Australian batting order.

England chased the target of 177 runs in 40 overs with four wickets to spare. J Denly (53) and Strauss (47) put together 106 runs for the first wicket. Swann was declared man of the match.
