Eight policemen killed in bank robbery in central Baghdad
Baghdad - Eight policemen were killed in a bank robbery in central Baghdad early on Tuesday, in which the robbers made off with the equivalent of about 5.7 million dollars, according to a government official.
"Unidentified gunmen stormed al-Rafidain bank, in al-Karada district, early on Tuesday. They gunned down eight policemen and stole around 6.5 billion dinars," the official was quoted by the Iraqi news website Yaqen. net as saying.
Earlier this week, four people were killed in a raid on a money exchange bureau in Baghdad.(dpa)
