Dwarf and Blind Smiley brings Smile to Everyone’s Face

Smiley was born with dwarfism and without eyes, but the puppy has led a happy, healthy life despite that. The 12-year-old-pup was saved by Joanne George of Stouffville, Canada. George's altruistic behavior helped the pup become a certified therapy dog through the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog program. The pup is an inspiration for patients in hospitals and nursing homes. Not only this, he also helps kids focus on their reading.

George jumped on to the idea of sharing Smiley after realizing so many people are drawn to him and so inspired by him.

What Smiley does when he is not inspiring people in his surroundings, well, he undergoes therapy dog training, which is also available on Facebook for fans to follow.

Smiley is no different than normal dogs and likes to beg for treats and spend afternoon with his other animal pals. A blind golden retriever named Smiley may not be able to see, but nevertheless, he is living a life synonymous to his name, by brining smiles to the faces of patients and residents of a Canadian nursing home.

Smiley was only one or two years old when he was rescued by George from a puppy mill. George feels good to bringing Smiley, as well as her deaf Great Dane Tyler, to schools and hospitals to make people inspired and feel happy about their lives.

"There was this man Teddy, no speech, no communication at all. The staff had never seen Teddy smile before", George told ABC News about one memorable nursing home resident. According to George, dogs have the brilliant ability to resurrect from bad situations in the past, unlike humans who dwell on the past.
