Ducati Motor Holding enters Indian Market; plans to sell 50 Superbikes in the First Year
Italian two-wheeler maker Ducati Motor Holding, famous for it’s superbikes, has announced its India foray in partnership with Precision Motor India. The company plans to bring its entire range of 15 bikes to India, priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 50 lakh.
The motorbike giant has informed that the company has signed a long-term partnership agreement with Mumbai-based Precision Motors India (PMI),
Under the agreement, Precision Motor will be exclusive importer of Ducati motorcycles in India. The company is also an importer of other premium automobile brands like Porsche and Netjets.
It may be recalled that Yamaha had launched two of its flagship superbikes YZF-R1 and the cruiser style MTO1, in India in 2007.
India's 7.2-million-strong bike market has prompted leading bike-makers around the world to renew their focus on the Indian market. India has the world's second-largest two-wheeler market.
Ducati superbikes with engine capacity between 700 cc and 1,100 cc generate an output of 90-180 horsepower and meet the Euro III emission norms. The company plans to sell 50 units in the first year through its dealerships in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
