Dhaka concerned over Israel's Gaza airstrikes

Dhaka  - The government of Muslim-dominated Bangladesh Sunday expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip following Israeli air raids over the weekend that reportedly killed more than 283 people.

"The issue was deeply troubling to all peace-loving people," according to a statement issued by the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry.

The statement went on to say that the ultimate solution to the Palestinian issue depends upon adherence to relevant United Nations resolutions and upon the creation of Palestine as a sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital, added the statement. (dpa)
