Dell launches its new Studio 14z notebookSpreading out its studio notebook line, Dell has launched its new Studio 14z notebook. Dell is touting that its new Studio 14z laptop is the sleekest and the lightest laptop on the market. The slim Studio 14z notebook is specifically designed for students and the people who prefer a light-weight, easy-to-carry laptops.  

The Studio 14z notebook is about .75 inch to 1.2 inches thick, and it weighs 4.3 pounds. The notebook boasts of its 14-inch, high-definition, LED TrueLife wide-screen with standard 720p HD resolution, 1.3-megapixel webcam, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi capabilities. The notebook offers option to upgrade it to 900p HD+ resolution to make downloaded or streamed media more brilliant and sharper. The laptop features built-in mobile broadband connectivity for accessing internet on the go.

The Studio 14z laptop features LoJack-like service – Failsafe Theft Protection, which helps to track the lost laptop whenever the laptop goes online. The notebook also features facial recognition login software.

The Studio 14z notebook sports 3GB of RAM, Gigabit Ethernet, one eSATA and two USB 2.0 ports, and HDMI port. It uses NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics. It runs Windows Vista Home Premium operating system. The base model of the Studio 14z notebook comes equipped with Intel Pentium Dual Core T4200 2GHz dual-core processor, 250GB SATA hard drive, and 802.11g wireless, but the notebook can be upgraded to the Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 2GHz dual-core processor or to the T9550 model, 320GB SATA hard drive, and 802.11n wireless.

The entry-level Studio 14z notebook comes equipped with 250 GB of storage, but the storage can be upgraded to a 500-GB HDD. The notebook has 3 GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066-MHz memory. The laptop comes powered by a six-cell Li-ion removable battery, but can be upgraded to an eight-cell battery for longer life.

The Dell Studio 14z notebook is available at starting price of $649. The upgraded notebook with the Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 2GHz dual-core processor, 320GB SATA hard drive, and 802.11n wireless can cost $899. The Studio 14z notebook is available in six different colors, including red, blue, green, purple, black chain link and promise pink.
