Delhi Govt.’s yearly plan settled at Rs 10,000 crores

Montek Singh AhluwaliaDuring the meeting on Friday between Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman, and Shiela Dikshit, Chief Minister, the yearly plan of the Delhi government was settled at Rs 10,000 crores for the current fiscal.

Mr. Ahluwalia apprehended the State Government for betterments in the infrastructure sector, and stated that the State has been showing a rich growth in per capita income. He also spotlighted that accomplishment in the social sector including health and education has been improved in Delhi than many other states.

Delhi being the national capital has to be a role model and should set examples for other states particularly in urban service. Mrs. Shiela Dikshit has showed confidence that formulation for Commonwealth games will be finished in time.

The State Government has successfully solved the problems regarding power sector, and now it needs to stress on supply of drinking water, which is confronting major problem.

In Delhi, loss of water was 45-50%. As state has highest water usage, it should focus on insufficiency of sewage treatment system.

Mrs. Dikshit declared that all attempts are being made to finish preparations for Common Wealth games in time. She insured the commission that preparations for the games are on schedule and adequate funds are available.
