Deepak Fertilizers’ net up

Deepak Fertilizers’ net upMakers of fertilizers and agro-chemicals, Deepak Fertilizers announced its 2009-10 net profit. It went up by 15.7 per cent and closed at Rs. 172.05 crore.

The main reason for this increase was the better performance that it showed in the fourth and that was led by the high price realization that the company saw during that period. Also better gas availability and decline in the price of raw materials helped the company bag good figures.

However, the income of the company from operations declined during this period. As against Rs 1,412.10 crore, figures stood at Rs 1,287.98 crore. This, said the company in its statement, happened because of the drop in bulk traded fertilizers.

Talking to a private media agency, PTI, Vice CMD Sailesh C Mehta said, "Prices peaked in the previous year during the pre-meltdown time. But post the meltdown, prices fell. However, in the last quarter of FY'10, prices climbed back to almost 95 per cent of their pre-meltdown level."

And now, looking at the past performance, the company expects the current fiscal to bring better results.
