Deccan thrashes Chennai by 31 runs
Deccan Chargers led by skipper Adam Gilchrist has registered their first victory in the cash rich and lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL-3) after defeating Chennai Super Kings by 31 runs in Chennai on Sunday.
Gilchrist won the toss and elected to bat first. Deccan scored 190 runs for loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs. A Symonds scored 50 runs while H Gibbs contributed 45 runs with the bat for Deccan.
Chasing the target of 191 runs, Chennai batting order struggled against the bowling attack of Deccan and they managed to score only 159 runs for loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Chennai skipper M S Dhoni and A Morkel scored
42 runs each but could lead their team to victory.
Meanwhile, in the other match Kolkata Knight Riders has defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by seven wickets. M Tiwary of KKR was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant inning of 50 runs in 29 balls.
