Lalit Modi, the commissioner of Indian Premier League, has assured the cricket lovers of India that they don't have to fear for watching the much awaited domestic Twenty-20 championship without the defending champion Deccan Chargers. Though he did not tell that how he will do it as the defending champion threatened to stay away from the most viewed tournament of world cricket on the shifting of the Andhra Pradesh matches to Maharashtra.
Lalit Modi said on tweeter, "Reports that DC will not play or x y z may not - please ignore such news. All IPL teams will participate. You have my assurance on that."
On Monday The Deccan Chargers threatened to pull out of the Indian Premier League season 3 demanding their home league matches back to Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam which were earlier shifted to Nagpur and Mumbai over the recent Telangana agitation in Andhra Pradesh.
The franchise owner of the team Deccan Chargers Sporting Ventures Ltd. also sent a legal notice to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the IPL. The owner wants the BCCI and IPL to reconsider their decision about the shifting of the matches away from Andhra Pradesh. The owner also said that by doing this the IPL committee has violated its franchise agreement.
