Darsheel Safary Makes Entry In Ad World With Horlicks

Nutritional product manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd Darsheel Safaryhas roped in Darsheel Safary, the superstar of ‘Taare Zameen Par’ as brand ambassador for its health drink ‘Horlicks.’

The cute and innocent Darsheel will endorse Horlicks for one year, and he advises children to try it to be ‘cool.’ This will also be a vital part of the future campaigns of the brand during this period.

GM Sumeet Saluja, GlaxoSmithKline consumer healthcare stated, “Darsheel is the perfect brand ambassador for Horlicks. Darsheel stands tall, strong and sharp in all aspects of his childhood. Over and above, he is very popular with kids. This combination makes him the best fit for Horlicks. Darsheel's involvement is our way of connecting better with kids.”

Horlicks’ first TVC, conceptualised by JWT, will air from Friday onwards.

“The objective behind this advertisement is to encapsulate the colourful and youthful nature of childhood in general. And Darsheel, being a face to today's child, has brilliantly depicted the story we wanted to communicate. His natural acting talent allowed the commercial to become a story in itself rather than just being a loud announcement,” added JWT VP Debarpita Banerjee.

Besides, Horlicks cold consumption campaign will also introduce two new flavors including ‘butterscotch’ and ‘pistachio’.

The company said that the consumer promotion programme is a large scale on-ground activation that will cover up 30 cities across India and reach out six lakh potential customers.

It would be backed by branded stalls and merchandise at the venues for facilitating product sampling and visibility.

The consumer promotion is a thematic offering for kids, a trendy sunglass free with every 500gm pack of Butterscotch, Pistachio and Chocolate Horlicks.
