The creator of “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire” wins the    Disney trialThe company of UK which has created the show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” won the multi million pound legal battle against the Disney over the issue of unpaid profits.

A group of jury in Los Angeles awarded the firm Celador with 269 million dollars after declaring that it did not get a fair share of the profits from broadcasting the show in the US. This judgment came after eight years of the battle and brought a lot of joy for the chairman of Celador, Mr. Paul Smith.

The Walt Disney Company has said that it would appeal against the judgment. The jury has found that the Buena Vista Television of Disney and ABC had breached an agreement of giving half of the screening profits to the creator of the show Celador.

The quiz show was a big success when it was aired for the first time in the US in 1999 and boosted huge audience ratings.

But then the producers of the show Celador went to court claiming that it had not got the amount of profit agreed as the contract and after eight years he got his judgment.
