Court extends stay orders till September 3

PCBThe court has extended the stay on relocating the 2011 World Cup's headquarters out of the Pakistan till September 3 on Friday. This decision was taken by the court after the International Cricket Council (ICC) requested to extend stay to continue negotiations with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Pakistan sued ICC in the courts after ICC removed Pakistan as a co-host of the World Cup 2011 and all 14 matches of Pakistan quota were shifted to other venues in the other three hosting nations, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. ICC was forced to take this action after all cricketing nations raised their concerns over security situation in Pakistan in April this year.

Pakistan started a legal fight against relocation of matches by ICC and they managed to get stay orders against shifting the World Cup secretariat from Lahore to India's city Mumbai.

PCB legal adviser Taffazul Rizvi said that they also want to solve this matter out of the court and they have been hopeful for settlement of issue in next month.
